**Late Post from NY2015 at The Alamo Bowl

Ben and I bleed purple - Kansas State University Wildcat purple. When the opportunity to head down to Texas to cheer on our Cats with family and friends came around we couldn't have been more excited to take it.

So New Years Day, we and the Carothers loaded into the car and were Texas bound! I did fail to mention that the night before Ben came home after chores and said he didn't feel well. I of course thought he was just trying to get out of our NYE plans, turns out I'm a bad wife and was completely wrong. After a pretty bad battle with the 24 hour flu, Ben bravely got in the car for our 10 hour trip!

After a few pit stops and a little snoozing on my part we arrived! Oh, did I mention our hotel was right across the street from The Alamo! So cool. Ben, being the history buff, was quite excited.

And I of course had to get a picture of the Christmas tree in front of The Alamo (I love Christmas!)

So the first night in San Antonio we spent having a fun Mexican food dinner with our great friends and travel partners, followed by a night out on the River Walk (which is as fun as it is beautiful). There we met up with the rest of our crew.

How in the world did this happen?

Did I mention my sister-in-law/best friend /any other labels you would like to give her and brother were part of the crew?

Yes, that is my brother.
Yes, that is a child's shirt.
Yes, I do love him.

Day 2 in San Antonio was game day and there was a lot of purple around town!  We had a fun day planned since the game was in the evening. Katie and I decided we were going to pamper ourselves - so we went to a blow-dry bar! I didn't even know such a thing existed. So we drank some mimosas and had our hair washed, deep conditioned, dried and styled! What a great way to start the day.

We then met the boys to go tour The Alamo. There is so much history that I don't know..I figured out quickly that I should have paid much more attention in history class!

The Tower of the Americas was next on the list. There we met Clay, Samantha, Michael and Ashlin for lunch. They take you up to the tip top and there's restraunt up there which spins around slowly as you eat so you can see the whole city. It was really neat and surprisingly I didn't get motion sick!

Love these ladies.

After all of these activities, we still had time to kill. So our obvious choice was to head back to the river walk!

Finally it was game time!

And maybe the best picture from the day came from my sister back in SWKS who was watching my furbaby!

Dally loves the Wildcats too! Isn't she adorable??

The game ended up not going our way, but being there with great friends made up for the loss!

We gave the river walk one last visit. Good thing we did because we ran into Jerrod Niemann! He and his wife along with some friends came down to support the Cats too! They couldn't have been nicer people.

All-in-all this trip was a complete success and we made many great memories!
