Emily's 21st!

Emily turned 21 on Wednesday! Yes, 21. So obviously we went up to Manhattan to celebrate. Ben couldn't come up, so he and Dals spent Saturday (Valentines Day) working, napping and playing. We on the other hand had lots of fun in Aggieville.

Friday night: first legal drink - Irish Car Bomb..obviously. We Paynes really enjoy these.

Saturday night:

Shot #1 at La Fiesta - tequila

Family Weekend

This weekend was family and pup-filled:

Dals helped Auntie Em with her homework!

Did I mention Katie made us shirts for the guys Sunday night basketball? Yes, they are awesome!

#35 IS my bae! (No, neither of us knew what that meant until Katie's basketball girls informed her - when did we fall out of the lingo??)

And these two make my heart happy.

I mean really, that face!

To Good 'ol Days and New Adventures

This was an eventful weekend for me.  My last day of rotation #7 was Wednesday!  I had big plans for the long weekend.

Thursday January 29:

I woke up to cuddles from my favorite, Dals.  After lots of playing and loving, I was Wichita bound to run many errands and then to help my best friend, MacKenzie, with wedding decorations!  I can't believe she will be a married woman in a few short months.

After completing the beautiful decorations with Kenz, I had wine and caught up with Aunt Connie, Megan and Mishawn.  Did I mention we were celebrating Mishawn getting a job offer?!

Friday January 30:

Friday we had a "Back to Campus Day" for school.  We had to come in and talk about rotations: the good, the bad and the ugly.  We also talked about GRADUATION!  I can't believe that I have almost completed my 4 years of pharmacy school (yes, I've been in college for 7 years!).  This day made me think of all the many all-night study sessions, mental breakdowns, tears, headaches and somehow great memories I've had over the last few years.  Pharmacy school has presented me with some of the hardest years of my life thus far.  I couldn't have gotten through these years without my husband, family and friends.

Ornament from my January rotation (Wesley Rehab Hospital) preceptor!

Sums up my life perfectly.

I seriously don't know what I would have done without Mishawn these last 4 years.  So thankful for a lifelong friend.

Sadly, this is what my calendar has looked like the last 4 years.  Full of exams, quizzes, homework and trying to fit family and "me" time in the middle.

And this has been my life...that I wouldn't change for the world.

Did I mention during this time I also acquired a caffeine addiction?

Saturday January 31:

Saturday Katie and Cooper invited me to go watch some 1st grade girls basketball.  It was just what my heart needed that day.  It just makes me happy to watch young athletes starting on their journey.  They reminded me how much love and joy this game gives/has always given me.

Cooper had to take a selfie, obviously.  He tugs on my heart.

Sunday February 1:

Sunday is when one of our new adventures began:  Jr./Sr. High Sunday School teachers.  **Insert very nervous person emotion**  Ben and I were approached by Pastor Kim to take over the Jr./Sr. SS class.  At first, the nerves got to me and I immediately thought "Nope, no way I can do that.  I could never do this."  But Ben asked me to keep an open mind and pray about it.  I did.  As you can tell I felt like this was something we should do.  I'll keep you updated on our journey, I think it will be great to grow in our faith with these young adults and hopefully touch their lives in a positive way!
